“God selected what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame. And God also selected what in the world is lowborn and insignigicant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are, so that no mortal man should boast in the presence of God.” 1 Corinthians 27-29
It is incredible that God, as holy as He is, still tries with us! We are filthy rags, yet He still longs to have a relationship with us and call us His children. And the best part about it is that He doesn't choose the best of the best, or the most talented, or the purest, or the most charismatic people…He choose the lowly! He chooses to use normal people! That is something to get excited about!
We can't be perfect, but here in this scripture God is telling us that that is okay. He wants us to be honest and vulnerable with HIm. He does not want us to mask our problems or try and hide them from Him. He wants us to be comfortable with Him…to talk to Him like we would talk to a friend.
We don't have to do everything right to be used by God. Let this sink in, and allow it to transform how you see your relationship with God! When you realize you do not need to compete for God's attention, you will become more free to enjoy His company!
