God Has A Plan For Your Life! Part One
How many times have you heard that? Especially from our parents or a pastor when things don’t go our way? I can remember time and time again just rolling my eyes and saying under my breath, REALLY?? Well it does feel like it right now! Maybe you are having these same thoughts and feelings. I am sure they are justified. Been there myself but the good thing is that God is right there with you in the place you are right now. What always use to bug me is that people would say that but then that’s it. I would want to scream, “yes but how will I know it when it gets here?”
So here are some thoughts on understanding God’s plan for your life. First it begins with believing God’s Word is true. Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Scriptures must be more than words on a page, they must be written upon our hearts. How? By reading the Word then speaking it through confessions and prayers. Take the Scripture and out of your own mouth speak it and NOTHING ELSE! Before you know it you will believe it!
Secondly, you must a surrender to your own will. Most of us Christians are committed to Christ but are we surrendered? Are we willing to say as Jesus did, “Not my will but thine be done?” This type of surrender is a tall order and not easy to do but through prayer, Bible reading, and surrounding yourself with faith-filled people surrender can happen. I personally think that surrounding yourself with the right kind of people is the most effective way to surrender. One thing is for sure, when you are going through a situation or season in your life when things aren’t going well, DON’T surround yourself with people who keep talking about the situation. Get with people who will believe for God’s best and speak ONLY God’s will over you.
