A Veteran is defined as “having had service or experience in warfare.”

In the USA we are honoring our “veterans” of the Armed Forces.  Many who have lost their lives, been maimed in war, and spent long days, months, and even years away from their loved ones.  THANK YOU!  There is another kind of veteran too.  A veteran of the faith.  Men and women who have spent their lives in service and warfare for the Captain of the Armies of the Lord.  Our captain, the Lord Jesus Christ, has called each one of us to be soldiers in His army and many have done so.  “Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come…” wrote the song writer.

Most all true Veterans of both the Armed Forces and of the Faith have the same message, “we would do it again for our country and/or our Lord.”  There is a price for a countries freedom and a price for being a veteran of our Lord.  BUT it is worth it!  “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13
