Count The Cost

John 12:26 – The Amplified Bible

If anyone serves Me, he must continue to follow Me [to cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying] and wherever I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

We are called to “count the cost” to follow Christ. It would be unfair to tell a new convert that life will now suddenly be perfect.  Those of us who have walked with Christ for any length of time knows that the honeymoon does end.  He never leaves us, in fact He quickly starts poking around in our business.  He begins to shed light on areas of our hearts that He wants to renew.  It can be hard to “die to our own desires”, but it is a journey a true Christ follower must take and it is certainly worth every bit of the effort!  Walking in close fellowship with Him is worth more than anything this life has to offer.  What a joy to know that the Father loves and honor His servants!
