“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened inorder that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheiritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for those who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead….” (Ephesians 1:18-20)
Belief is something we all have in one way or another. It is essential to do anything in life. You believe that when you hit a light switch it will turn on. You believe that when you boil water to a certain temperature that it will be able to cook the food you want to eat. Because you believe that your action will cause a desired response, you do whatever it is.
Believing is at the core of everything we do. If we did not believe that our actions would cause a desired response we would not do anything.
It is no different in the kingdom of God. Believing is the core of the Christian faith. Without faith or belief it is impossible to please God. The good news is that our belief in God enables him to act in our lives in a more powerful way than believing in anything else. Believing empowers us to act with the same power God used to raise Jesus from the dead.
If you are wondering why you don't have as much power as you would like, evaluate your belief. The more you believe the more power you will have to act in the same way God acted. Belief is inseperable from power in the kingdom of God.
