Who can climb the mountain of the Lord? Who can stand in His holy place? Only those who's hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. (Psalms 24:3-4) This is not a popular topic in the 21st century. We want to live however we want yet think we can receive from God and that we will make it to heaven. This is simply not true!
For us who want to live pure it seems impossible. I would like to strenthen the meaning of “pure” from the original language. Sure it means clean BUT it also means empty. The inference here is that we must “empty” our hearts in order for them to be clean. This is truly a lifelong journey of ridding ourselves of all the outside influences that try to steal our time, affections, and emotions. We must seek God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength. NO ONE can be sinless but we can have hearts that are empty and ready for His word and spirit to fill us!
Let us cry out today for cleans hands and a pure heart.
