This is how the birth of the Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. Matthew 1:18
Have you ever though about what it must have felt for Mary to carry Jesus in her womb? How would it have felt to be pregnant with God? Surely it would have been exciting, but it was probably very scary.
Having a human being inside of your body already calls for caution. There are new things that one must do to take care of the baby and certain old things that are now forbidden because it will harm it. Imagine the precaution Mary was taking to make sure to nurture the son of God. Her willingness to take all of the precautions and bare him in her body enabled the salvation of the world.
While Mary is the only human to ever have been pregnant with Christ, she is not the only one to have ever had Christ inside of her. Galatians 4:6 tells us that, “Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts…” You do not have Christ in your womb but you do have him in your heart if you have accepted him as Lord and Savior.
This Christmas remember that you have Christ inside of you! Having Christ inside of you calls for a certain lifestyle just as Mary’s pregnancy with him did. It is worth it though because nurturing Christ inside of you enables others to come to salvation.
Carry Christ in your heart this Christmas and allow him to come forth from your being to see people saved this Christmas!
