My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2-3
Remember as a child going on a treasure hunt. After searching through the house, or the woods there is nothing more exciting than finally opening up the treasure chest. Even as we get older finding valuable things that are hidden brings excitement and joy. There is something so special about going shopping and finding a great dress, boat, or house. No matter how many treasures we find in this life there is still a part of us that is never satisfied. We constantly keep trying to accumulate the right treasure that wil make our lives.
Today, I am writing to you to bring you good news! There is a treasure that will satisfy every longing not just in this life but for all eternity. Colossians 2:2-3 is part of a letter written by Paul talking about his hope for the church at Colosse and Laodicea. In this heart to heart between Paul and the churches he was pouring into we find the key to eternal treasure.
There are two steps to finding and enjoying the treasure which is Jesus Christ.
1. Be encouraged in heart
2. Be united in Love
Being encouraged in heart and united in love allows us to have the full riches of understanding. Once we obtain these riches then we are able to know the mystery of Christ in whom are hidden all not some but all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Today, embark on a treasure hunt different from any other. Begin searching for the treasure of Christ by being encouraged in heart and united in love. What are you waiting for?
