Therefore with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 1 Peter 1:13 (NIV)

In today’s world there can seem to be no hope. The ISIS crisis in Iraq where children are being beheaded is enough to make one loose all faith in humanity. Not being able to solve the problem of child immigrants coming into the U.S. because they are being abused in their own country is another seemingly hopeless situation.

Where is hope? Where is good?

Though there are many tragedies and hopeless situations in our world today, there is one good thing that is increasing, the spirit of God. We are privileged to live in a time where Jesus Christ has already died and rose again. We no longer have to make sacrifices for our forgiveness and we have a perfect example of how to live in front of us.

Technology is now making it possible for the Gospel to be spread. In the midst of great tragedy, places that have never heard the name of Jesus are experiencing the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Because we live in a time after the life of Jesus, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and have resources that have never been available, let us set our hope on the grace that is going to be revealed at Jesus coming. The day is getting closer and closer to his arrival. Instead of becoming discouraged let us be encouraged that we are only getting closer to him.

Remember, in the midst of the great tragedies of the world today that Jesus is getting closer and more accessible to the world.

Take a moment to refocus your mind and worship him for his grace!
