By Now, You Should Know that You Have To Make It Happen

Waiting on God is one of the positions every believer must come to understand and know how to operate in it. We need to truly believe that He is our Source and our Provider. Sometimes, I wait upon the Lord to hear what He wants me to speak to others, or what He has for me to say to people concerning situations, places and regions. But, most of the time, we as believers, are to be in a position of pressing towards the mark. God always gives the increase according to His word, will, and way; but we must keep daylight under our feet. We have to move on what God has assigned to us. This is my favorite verse to prove this point as New Testament saints.

James 2:17 says, ” In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” In other words, we have to implement a plan of action and follow through; no participation, no graduation. And we all should want to be promoted to higher levels in God where we can have the opportunity to be closer to our Father.

As a fitness expert, I’m going to take you step by step on how to move away from the don’t category and toward the do category.  I’m going to describe to you what God reveals to me as a prophet and a teacher by way of wisdom, and then move you into the nonphysical (spirit and soul) workout space as a personal trainer to build and equip you. Are you ready? Then let’s go.

Ephesians 2:8 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing. It is the gift of God.” If we knew we had something to do with it, we would ruin it for sure. It’s just the nature of the flesh. So, no flexing your spiritual muscles here with pride because only God gets all the glory. While all we need to obtain salvation is faith, we must move beyond the passive and take action when it comes to living out our faith.

Here’s something all of us do most of the time which actually falls into the don’t category. In the morning and all throughout the day, we, as believers, set our mind on different things, and we usually let the carnal mind do the driving. It’s been driving for so long that it doesn’t want to give up the wheel. As a matter of fact, most believers just set it on cruise control. They set it there and leave it there. They are content on letting the lower nature of their makeup run their lives. In other words, they are passive in their thoughts.

This is the don’t side. We, as believers, should not do. It goes completely against the word of God. So today, you are going to move over into the do category and learn how to operate out of your higher nature, your supernatural side, where your born again spirit dwells. It’s time to pull out the operators manual, the Bible, and learn how to drive with the mind of Christ.

Grace is that supernatural, creative force that regenerates us. As New Testament Christians, we have this miraculous opportunity. Grace renews us and makes us new. Only  the grace of God can change the old man, but it only operates by faith. You see, the world is not where you want your mind, or your thoughts, to connect. There is no recognizable heavenly force operating there. It is a dead system. Whereas, the kingdom of God is full of regenerating life that is eternal. This is where you want to connect.

So your exercise this week is to practice on moving away from letting your carnal mind drive. When you see that it is driving, pull over and take the wheel. You make the decision right then and there to let the mind of Christ be in the driver’s seat throughout the day. Don’t let your mind wander aimlessly through life under the influence of the enemy. Be bold as a lion about it. It’s your opportunity to participate in faith and move over to the do category. Let you mind work in this way all day.

Practicing something wrong for many years sets in bad habits, so it’s not going to happen overnight saints, like FedEx, but it will over time. You decide who takes the wheel when you get up in the morning. You decide what kind of thoughts you are going to be under the influence with when it comes to your mind. It’s your mind that God has given you, so take care of it and be picky about what you allow to get in it. You have to make it happen!
