Has procrastination trickled in to your life? Most people admittedly say, “yes” to that question, and that is okay!
But lets look at a few scriptures for motivation!
“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.” Ephesians 1:17-18
“Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding.” Proverbs 3:13
“Pay your debt.” 1 Kings 4:7
How do these scriptures apply to procrastination? As believers, we have the Holy Spirit guiding us to make wise decisions. Joyce Meyer’s quotes in the book “New Day, New You,” “Wisdom makes the decision today that it will be comfortable with tomorrow. Emotion does what feels good today and takes no thought of tomorrow.” Walking in wisdom is a gift from God, and we have a choice to listen to either walk in wisdom or refuse it.
A recent blog post by Pun Intended so eloquently says, “I’ve never seen river water moving along, get distressed over where it needs to be a mile later…ultimately, the river finds itself splashing into the ocean.”
You must try to live in the moment. Focusing on what you are doing now will help you finish your responsibilities. As you do this, you will start to recognize the wonderful benefits of getting things done in a timely manner!
What are some reasons/excuses you use that keep you from doing your work? How might you go about fixing this?
