1 Peter 2:9-12 ~ The Message Bible

But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.  Friends, this world is not your home, so don’t make yourselves cozy in it. Don’t indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they’ll be won over to God’s side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives.

Chosen by God….WOW!  These words could take a lifetime to process.  And beyond that being called to work for Him is another directive that boggles my mind.  Who are we that He would choose us and call us?  Even with all that in mind, we soon realize that the path we are on is also a journey of preparation. He is messing around in our hearts, changing us to be that honorable vessel that He can use effectively.  At times I forget about this molding process as I find myself spinning wildly on that potter's wheel.  How about you?  Do you find encouragement when you get a glimpse of something that resembles a vessel of honor coming into view?  Don't despair.  He is a master craftsman.  Settle in for the journey…it will be worth it all.
