HOW DO YOU PRAY?
There is no right or wrong way to pray; you are simply talking to Him. Talking to God is like talking to your best friend. You can express to Him your thoughts, desires, problems, and hurts, as well as give Him your thanks and praises.
Just as you would share your every- day events, thoughts, and experiences with your friends on Facebook or followers on Twitter, God wants to be the FIRST you share those experiences and thoughts with. He is your best friend and most interested follower when it comes to your life. He too wants to know what is going on. Although God is all-knowing, He wants you to invite Him to share in your glory and pain as well as your excitement and frustration.
Jesus did give us a model to use when we pray. It is called the Lord's Prayer. Read it today! “My father, in heaven, I praise your name. I adore you and acknowledge you as Yahweh. Your kindom, the right way of living, be done, your will, purpose and plans, be done on earth as it is done in heaven. Today I ask for a daily portoin of food, clothing, and shelter. And I confess I have sinned and I need your forgiveness. Please give me the strength to forgive those who have hurt me. I will do my part to keep from sinning but I need you to lead me and deliver me from all evil. For it's all about you Lord, your kingdom. You have ALL power and I give you ALL glory. AMEN!”
